Kerala schools to hold annual exam on computers
Business Line, Dated March 2, 2004 Kochi, March 2 - Perhaps for the first time in the country, an annual school examination is being conducted on computers, suing specially developed software. Over five lakh ninth standard students in Kerala will log on to computers during this week to take their test on information technology.
A Kochi-based company, Team e-Biz, has developed the software, which will test the students skills in computers. During the 25 minute examination, ability to use basic functions of a computer will be tested.
“This is probably the first time a school final examination is conducted entirely on computers” says Mr. Biju Prabhakarn, Executive Director of IT @ School project of the state Government. “
